Prospect Discovery, Autonomous

Talk to your customers
before they're customers.

Lighthouse runs voice interviews with your prospects — the people you're trying to win — and returns a Jobs-to-be-Done report. Validate the problem before you build, pitch, or launch.

The work nobody does

Every founder, PM, and investor knows they should validate with prospects before building.
Almost none of them do.

Three reasons it doesn't happen. They're the same three reasons every time.

1

Scheduling thirty prospects is hell.

Ten Calendly invites, six no-shows, two reschedules. By the time you've booked the conversations, you've burned a week and the conviction is gone.

2

Designing the interview is hard.

Mom Test rules are easy to read, hard to follow live. Most founders drift into pitching, leading, and gathering compliments.

3

Synthesizing thirty transcripts is exhausting.

Even when the calls happen, the sense-making doesn't. The transcripts sit in a folder. The build continues on vibes. Eighteen months later, the company runs out of runway.

How Lighthouse works

Drop a link. Get a report.

Four steps from "I should talk to prospects" to "here's the JTBD synthesis."

1

Create a project

Name your research goal. Describe the persona you want to talk to. Two minutes.

2

Drop seed questions

Three to five things you want to learn. Lighthouse generates a Switch-Interview-style guide from them.

3

Send the link

One URL. Drop it in a cold email, a LinkedIn DM, an SMS to a warm lead. Prospects tap it on their phone and talk.

4

Get the report

Once interviews complete, Lighthouse synthesizes a JTBD report: forces, segments, the five quotes you must read, recommended actions.

The honest part

Get prospects to actually take the interview.

A link is only useful if a real human taps it. Here are the templates we use to make that happen — written like a sales founder, not a marketer.

Cold email ≤ 80 words · Day-1 first touch
Subject line — pick one
  • {{first_name}} — quick research ask
  • {{first_name}} — 10 minutes, no pitch
  • {{first_name}}, before I build the wrong thing
Body
Hi {{first_name}} —

I'm building {{one-line product}} for {{ICP segment, e.g., "solo consultants who hate scheduling"}}, and you fit the persona almost exactly.

Before I write a line of code, I'm trying to talk to 25 of you. I built an AI interviewer so you don't have to find a calendar slot — 10 minutes, voice or text, on your phone, whenever:

{{lighthouse_link}}

I'll send you the synthesis after. No pitch, no list, no follow-up unless you want one.

— {{your_first_name}}
LinkedIn DM ≤ 50 words · warmer surface
Body
{{first_name}} — building something for {{ICP segment}} and you're one of 25 people I want to learn from before I ship.

10 min AI interview, voice or text, on your phone:
{{lighthouse_link}}

I'll share what I learn from all 25.

No pitch.
SMS — warm leads only ≤ 25 words · use sparingly
Body
Hey {{first_name}} — Casey from {{prior_context}}. Building something I think you'll have strong opinions on. 10 min on your phone, no scheduling: {{lighthouse_link}}
What to expect honest reply rates
  • 10–25%Cold list, well-targeted ICP, named human in subject and opener.
  • 30–45%Warm intro from a peer, or your own waitlist / past pilots.
  • 50–70%People you've talked to once before — second touch with a clear ask.
Targeting tip

Drop the link to 50 named humans who match your ICP — not 500 strangers. Lighthouse rewards specificity. The interview only generates signal if the people on the line could plausibly write you a check someday.

Honest answers

Frequently asked questions.

Will my prospects actually take an AI interview?
Yes — and the completion rate is higher than a Calendly invite. The threshold is "tap a link" not "book a meeting Wednesday at 3pm." Voice models are good enough now that the conversation feels human, and prospects can finish in eight to ten minutes from their phone. Targeting matters more than channel: a sharply targeted cold email gets 10–25% completion, a warm intro 30%+, your own waitlist 50%+.
How is this different from sending a survey or a Typeform?
A survey asks "what features do you want?" and gets the wrong answer. Lighthouse asks "tell me about the last time you tried to solve this" — and then probes the answer for two minutes with branching follow-ups. Voice unlocks spontaneity. The Switch Interview unlocks past-behavior signal. You get the answers people don't know they have until someone draws them out.
Do I send this to my email list, or to cold prospects?
Both work. Your existing list (waitlist, past pilots, peers in your network) gives you 30–60% completion on the first send. A cold list of 50 sharply-targeted ICP humans gets you 10–25% with a good subject line and opener. Above the FAQ we ship cold-email, LinkedIn-DM, and SMS templates you can paste and send today. See templates →
Is Lighthouse for talking to existing customers too?
Lighthouse is built and tuned for prospect discovery — the people you're trying to win. The same engine fits customer success, NPS replacement, and churn analysis, but the prompts, framing, and synthesis logic are different. The customer-success surface is on the Day-60 roadmap. Use Lighthouse today for: pre-product validation, refining a pitch, validating a new feature before building, and VC diligence calls.
Won't the AI hallucinate or lead the witness?
The system prompt enforces Mom Test rules: no leading, no hypothetical "would you" questions, no pitching. The interview is structured in six phases (rapport → trigger event → search → switch → result → what's still broken) and the AI is instructed to probe past behavior, not future intent. Every transcript is verifiable, every quote in the report appears verbatim in a transcript.
What does the JTBD report actually contain?
A structured synthesis of all completed interviews: top pains ranked by frequency × intensity, the four Forces of Progress (push, pull, anxieties, habits), persona segments, the five quotes you must read verbatim, and a list of recommended actions for your next sprint. Roughly 800–1,200 words. Designed to be read in one sitting before a planning meeting.
How long do interviews take?
Target is ~10 minutes. The AI moves through the six phases at a pace that respects the prospect's time. If they want to talk longer, the AI lets them. If they're terse, it wraps in seven.
Can I customize the interview script?
On the Founder tier and above, yes — you can edit the system prompt for your project. Default is the canonical Switch Interview. Most teams should not customize until they've run two projects with the default.
Is my data private?
Yes. Transcripts and reports are stored in your workspace only. We do not train models on your data. We do not sell, share, or aggregate it. Enterprise tier offers self-hosted inference and BAA. See privacy.
Why did you build this?
Twin Flame Group ships platforms. Every platform we ship needs prospect validation, and every time we needed to do it, we did it late or not at all. So we built this for ourselves first — and then realized every founder, sales lead, and PM we know has the same problem. See the founder note.
A note from Twin Flame Group

Why this exists.

We built Lighthouse because we kept watching founders we love ship product based on vibes — and lose eighteen months because they never talked to the people they were trying to win. The prospect calls never happened. Not because the founders didn't care, but because the friction was real. Scheduling. Designing the interview. Synthesizing the answers. Three full-time jobs crammed into the cracks of an already-impossible week.

Lighthouse removes the friction. The conversations happen. The fog lifts. The build sharpens before you spend the next six months on the wrong thing. That's the whole pitch.
